Frequently asked questions

  • Short answer is: yes I am. I have earned a diploma in mechanical diagnosis and therapy (the Mckenzie Method) which is the highest level of education you can achieve. There are less than 500 people worldwide who have earned the diploma, due to the rigorous training that is involved.

  • It is an assessment method that looks at what activities or movements affect your pain, and from there specific exercises are used that reduce and abolish the pain symptoms. The treatment is designed specifically for you and your issue. The goal is to empower you to relieve your symptoms without the use of invasive procedures or dependency on medication. At the end of your treatment, you will be given the tools to continue to live your life free of pain and limitation.

  • I do not have a brick and mortar clinic; I am mobile to a 30 mile radius of Coppell. This means I come to your home, gym, place of work, etc. whatever works best for you. This allows me to fit into your schedule. I do offer telehealth visits as well.

  • Texas has what is called direct access for physical therapy. This means that we do not need a referral from a doctor to start physical therapy.

  • Not necessarily. The vast majority of people do not need either one before coming to physical therapy. This is because most pain isn’t caused by anything life threatening (cancer or infection). If you have been in some sort of accident such as a car crash or fall, your doctor may do one (just to make sure nothing is broken). Outside of these things, neither an x-ray nor MRI will tell us much. If during our time working together, it is indicated that you need to have one done, you will be told as soon as possible.

  • Not that much. For space, just enough to have a table and for us to move you around. As for equipment, I will bring everything we need for your session. If anything else is needed, we can set that up.

  • The first visit is called the evaluation, where I gather the history of what is going on. From there we do what is called a mechanical assessment which allows me to determine what is going to help you relieve your pain, help you get stronger, help you move more, etc. From that you will be given something specific to do so that you keep feeling better. It’s often hard to say what exactly, because everyone is so different in what they have going on and what best helps them.
